Denver has plenty of dog lovers; let’s face it, we love our pets. So what happens when you let a group of doggie-loving artists off their leashes for an art show to benefit the Denver Dumb Friends League? Dogmata Denver, a dog art show.

The show features four local artists who created a special work for this exhibit. It’s a cute pop art piece — the same image of a smiling Saint Bernard has been rendered four ways, reflecting the four artists’ interpretations — and the original will be framed together and auctioned off during the opening of the show. Limited edition prints of the piece will also benefit the DDFL, as will a portion of the proceeds of all other paintings and sculptures sold during the show.

Dogmata Denver opens Friday from 6-10pm at the Lapis Gallery at 3971 Tennyson St. and runs through November 30.
