Phil Goodstein loves to talk about Denver’s history. He particularly loves a good ghost story, and shares his favorites in books like Ghosts of Denver and Denver From the Bottom Up. His guided tours (offered regularly through Colorado Free University) give him a chance to spin tales about the seedier side of Denver’s history, which is apparently full of sex scandals, murders, suicides, hauntings and hangings.

Tonight, he’ll be at the Breakdown Book Collective at 14th & Ogden for a lecture about “The People’s History of Denver.” The event is free, and if you’ve never heard Goodstein’s storytelling skills in person, you’re in for a treat.
