With the recent craze for vintage Western shirts still spreading far and wide (pop into the Atomic Cowboy bar on Colfax to see hipsters sporting the new “vintage” versions), much has been made of the family-owned Rockmount Ranchwear in Lodo, including our own feature in this month’s issue of 5280. It’s a great story, with three generations of men from the Weil family still working in the business, where western-style shirts have been in style since it opened in 1946. Grandfather Jack A. Weil, at 103, might very well be America’s oldest CEO, and still comes to work every day with son Jack B. Weil and grandson Steven Weil. Steven has just published a book titled “Western Shirts: A Classic American Fashion,” and will appear Tuesday at noon at the Denver Press Club during the Book Beat Luncheon event. Tickets are $20, but you can save a buck if you wear a western shirt. Call 303-571-5260 today for reservations.
