It’s official. Mitch Morrisey is now the District Attorney for Denver. Replacing outgoing DA Bill Ritter, who was ousted by term limits, Morrissey can be expected to make some changes to the office.

At his swearing in Monday, Morrissey pledged to be tough on criminals but compassionate to those who show promise of reform.

“A prosecutor’s goal is always to obtain justice,” he added. “The people of Denver need to know that their district attorney’s office is one that passionately advocates for victims while respecting the rights of the accused.”

Let’s hold him to it.
