Caramelo is a generational saga.
Told through the eyes of Celaya (whose nickname is Lala), it describes the Mexican-American immigrant experience and Lala’s growth to adulthood. Hickenlooper called it a story of “love, culture, history and coming of age with imagery that is poetic.”
