Jerry Wartgow announced today that he is resigning at the end of the school year as superintendent of the Denver Public Schools.

Mayor John Hickenlooper released this statement:

“Jerry Wartgow has given our community more than we could have ever expected. He’s been a tremendous leader, a tireless worker and a great friend. Jerry has helped to build a strong partnership with the City which we will hope will serve his successor and the school district well. I wish him all the best, but I miss him already.”
