A four-year-old girl was miraculously unhurt after falling 30 feet from a chairlift at the Snowmass Ski Area on Friday.

Milt Fuehrer, a Chicago resident, was riding in the chair behind the little girl’s chair. He said she began slipping from the seat about halfway up the lift. She was seated on the end of the lift seat. Her instructor, who was seated at the other end of the lift seat, reached across two other students and held on to her as she began to slip under the safety bar. “The ski instructor was holding her for a for couple of minutes before she fell,” Fuehrer said.

Officials said the girl landed near the top of the lift.

“The ski patrol took her down to the Snowmass Clinic. She was thoroughly checked out and then she went to her condo with her parents,” Hanle said.
