Chris Gates, the former Chair of Colorado’s Democratic Party, has decided against appealing last week’s election loss to the Democratic National Committee. If state party officials deny him relief, he will accept their decision.

This is a departure from his position earlier in the week when he complained that the new regime had changed the locks on DNC headquarters and were behaving mean-spiritedly. Then he said, “This thing is definitely not over.”

Today, Gates had changed his tune:

“Who knows? Maybe she won by more than the disputed number, and we have no need for a challenge,” Gates said Tuesday.
