Gov. Owens was trying to be funny yesterday when he was asked if he was going to veto more than the 11 bills he has 86’ed so far this legislative session. He said he was striving for a “new personal best.”

But is there any humor to be found in the Governor’s planned veto of bills passed by the legislature that would:

  • “Prevent private road-builders from condemning property.”
  • “Make attacks on gays and lesbians a hate crime.”
  • “Limit the power of homeowner associations.”
  • “Protect gays and lesbians from employment discrimination. “
