Opening night…Lakewood’s Café Bisque, long one of our favorite breakfast and lunch spots, is now tackling dinner. Tonight, May 10, is the big night—be the first to dine on New American dishes such as prosciutto-wrapped salmon and lobster cobb salad. We can hardly wait to try the gold beet carpaccio with goat cheese, toasted pistachios, heirloom greens, olive oil, and sun-dried cherry balsamic reduction. Would you like wasabi with that…On Thursday, May 12 get your sushi on with Kona Grill and Williams Sonoma. Kona Grill pros will chop, roll, and slice during a sushi demonstration that sheds light on the art of rolls, sushi, sashimi. Cow town no more…Bon Appetit‘s June issue is filled with our local restaurants. Look for nibbles on Rioja’s Jennifer Jasinski, The Oven in Belmar, and Boulder’s Frasca.
The sun’ll come out…and when it does, make a beeline to Wash Park for a picnic. But who needs the hassle of grocery shopping, packing a basket, and remembering forks? Enter chef Dan Witherspoon from The Gourmet Spoon in Cherry Creek North. He’ll plan your picnic menu, provide the goodies and beverages, and for ambience pack china, glasses (who likes sipping wine out of plastic cups anyway), silver, linens, and a blanket in a wicker basket. Voila, instant picnic. Witherspoon needs a week to plan and collect ingredients—the sky’s the limit, from ham sandwiches to foie gras and champagne. Developing story…despite Bill Husted’s report to the contrary, neighborhood leaders remain convinced Little Ollie’s Asian Cafe is coming to South Pearl Street as we reported last week. We stand by our story and will have an update in next week’s Table Talk.
We stand corrected…we mistakenly reported that Benny’s Restaurant & Tequila Bar was expanding to the Denver Pavilions. In fact, the restaurant’s second location will open soon at FlatIron Crossing.
