On Monday, August 22, the Denver City Council will hold a hearing to discuss the Alcohol-Marijuana Equalization Initiative, which would remove criminal penalties for adult marijuana possession. Supporters of the initiative would like people to call their council member. They suggest the following comment:
“I support the Alcohol-Marijuana Equalization Initiative because I think that prosecuting responsible adults who use marijuana is a waste of taxpayer dollars and law enforcement resources. I hope that you will support the initiative too. Thank you for your time.”
If you don’t know who your councilperson is, you can find out here.
You might also telephone the two at-large members and the council president.
