Belmar Celebrates the Holidays — Dec. 1-31
Shop for stocking stuffers or ice-skate to Bing Crosby music at Belmar all December long. Enjoy outdoor movies, holiday décor, and a special sneak peak, taste-test at the new Whole Foods. 9 News Parade of Lights — Dec 2-3
Who cares if Jack Frost is nipping at your nose? Bundle up and head downtown to see Denver’s annual holiday parade extravaganza—a cross between the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day and the Disney Light parades. See the famous 16-foot high carousel float, the new Christmas story float (a nativity scene sponsored by local churches), and, of course, Santa Claus himself. Also watch the parade on NBC, channel 9. Two parades: Fri 8 p.m. and Sat 6 p.m., downtown. Free.

Christmas Vacation — Dec. 7-8
It isn’t quite Christmas until you’ve watched Clark W. Griswold slide off the roof, sled across an interstate, and run around with a squirrel on his back. Head over to Wildlife Experience museum for a screening of the hilarious holiday-classic film, Christmas Vacation. Ballet Nouveau’s The Nutcracker — Dec. 2-11
Give your holiday spirit a kick-start. Twirl on over to the Nutcracker, danced in its classic form by Denver’s contemporary ballet, Ballet Nouveau. Junior League Holiday Mart — Dec. 1-4
A Denver tradition, this high-end artisan craft fair and fundraiser offers (among the usual country gear) lots of really great handmade jewelry, handbags, accessories, etc. Thu-Sun, times vary.
