Colorado law enforcement agencies announced their “50 Most Wanted” over the weekend and appealed to the public for help in locating them. There was a full-page ad in the Denver Post yesterday with mug shots and descriptions of all 50, and other news organizations have been running the story at length. Suppose, however, that you were a criminal and were a pretty bad dude (or woman). If you didn’t make the top 50, would you be upset? Obviously it doesn’t worry you that you are a wanted man (or woman) if you are committing serious crimes like that, so why not get on the big list? It was always a legend that in the Wild West criminals would want to be on the most wanted lists (at least, that’s what I learned from “Young Guns” and “Young Guns 2”) — does the same thing hold true nowadays?
