If you’re digging this lovely warm spell as much as I am, Vinyl nightclub has the perfect way to celebrate.

The weekly reggae night, known as Reggae on the Roof in the warm season and Reggae in the Room in the cold months, is heating up tonight with special guest Daron of soul crooners 112 hosting the party. “Hosting,” by the way, simply means he’ll be there, not that he’ll perform.

Still, any excuse for a party, right?

DJ Chief Rocka, on the other hand, will be rocking the decks with his weekly mix of reggae and hip hop, and the party spans the upstairs and rooftop levels of Vinyl. The rooftop is partially open; the enclosed portion of the patio is heated and has a full bar, but the outdoor space is still too chilly to hang for long — most people take a peek at the view and head back inside. Then again, with the 2-for-1 Long Island iced teas on special all night, you might just be warm enough not to care.

Event promoters Francois Baptiste and Alvin LaCabe, by the way, are on a roll every weekend these days with their 3 Deep Productions events. In addition to the Thursday reggae night, they promote Friday night’s “Juicy” party at Spy Bar & Lounge, a mellow, loungey hip hop scene, and Saturday’s “Plush” party at Evolution, where it’s all about dancing to hip hop in the club downstairs, and kicking it with cocktails upstairs in the bar.
