They might be called the Scattered Arts Collective, but tonight you’ll find them in one convenient block of Larimer St. for a free music and arts festival. The loose non-profit group promotes art, film, performance and music, and strives to offer free events to the public on a regular basis. Sounds like a fun way to spend a spring evening to me.

Want in on it? Head down to the 2700 block of Larimer tonight starting at 8 p.m. until the wee hours. The Larimer Lounge (2721 Larimer) is hosting a free show with six local bands, from alt rock to country punk; The Meadowlark (2701) offers four bands/performers ranging from electro to rockabilly and folk; Curtis Park Music (2705 Larimer) has seven performers lined up; Evans (2711 Larimer) hosts seven performers inside and two loungey DJs outside. Other events include the short films Spin by locals Double Edge Films, Intelligence by Tim Kernc, and The One Eyed Man is King by Gio Toninello, held at Kirks at 2715 Larimer. The festival is rounded out with poetry, performance art, fashion shows, and plenty of local art on display at each venue.

Did I mention the part about this being free to the public? You’d better have a good reason not to support the local music and arts scene tonight.
