MUSIC: END-OF-SUMMER BLUES
Sure, you’ve got Oktoberfest in Larimer Square this weekend, and you’ve got John Mayer at Red Rocks on Monday and Tuesday. You’ve also got a seriously shrinking window of summer playtime in the mountains… So here’s an idea instead: Hit all three in one place at the 13th annual Telluride Blues and Brews Festival, where you can catch up with John Mayer, sample from 55 microbreweries, and soak up the last of the summer sun in the Rockies. Really, it’s a win-win-win situation. For three days, world-renowned musicians such as Mayer, Lou Reed, and Bruce Hornsby will take over the mountain haven, including late-night groove sessions in local juke joints. Beer, music, mountains. If that doesn’t sound like a summer’s end celebration…Well, it does. So go. Fri 3 p.m.–Sun 10 p.m. Telluride. $50/single day pass; $140/three-day pass. For more information or tickets, call 866-515-6166 or visit www.tellurideblues.com.

HEALTH: WHAT’S COOKING IN YOUR LIFE?
We’re heading into fall, we’re stowing the bathing suits in the “summer bin” for the attic, and we’re pulling on the long pants and jackets more often. Bad news? FAIR: REDUCE, REUSE, AND HAVE FUN
Hop on the free, alternatively fueled shuttle to the Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Fair in Fort Collins this weekend, and get the low-down on renewable energy, natural health, organic agriculture, green building, and alternative transportation. More than 35 workshops, four keynote speakers (including Mayor Hickenlooper) a silent auction of sustainable goodies and services, the Planet Youth kids’ zone, and a “friendly food market” (read: organic, healthy eats) will keep you moving all weekend, so make some time to take a load off in the hammock forest at the beer garden (bring your own mug, of course) or hit up the meditation tent in the Zen Zone. Pick the brains of the keynote speakers and other community leaders at Friday’s VIP food-and-drink fest at the New Belgium Brewery, 5–7 p.m. Sat 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun 10 a.m.-5 p.m. $5; children under 12 free. Oxbow Property across from New Belgium Brewery, 500 Linden St., Fort Collins. For more information, call 970-224-FAIR or visit www.sustainablelivingfair.org.
