On November 29, first daughter Jenna Bush will be in Denver for a book signing at the Tattered Cover. It’s a signing like no other. First off, don’t expect her to personally inscribe your copy of her book, Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope. She’s only going to sign her name. Arrive very early, so you can go through a metal detector. Don’t even think about taking a picture once you get up to the signing table. Don’t bring any of these things. Don’t bother thinking of a question to ask, even about her book. She won’t be taking any. Why doesn’t she just mail in a few cartons of signed copies of her book for the Tattered Cover to give to those who pay for the book in advance and make her appearance via webcam? At least then the taxpayers wouldn’t have to pay for her Secret Service detail, the screeners and metal detectors for the depersonalized event.
