So, we got up this morning and realized that Denver isn’t famous anymore. Where’s Rachel Maddow, perched downtown, giving us sharp and independent analysis? Where are the stormtroopers circling the protesters? Where are the rumors that Oprah is eating with J-Lo at the Hard Rock Café?

Well, it’s over. And we’re all feeling the let down. Even the Palin stuff hasn’t really buoyed our moods yet. Don’t worry, folks, we’re all in this together. And that’s why we’ve put together a few things to do this weekend to deal with your post-DNC depression:

1. If you’re missing politics: Yeah, we don’t feel like going to St. Paul, either. But we can keep our political interest alive by heading to the Denver Art Museum. Their Untitled Series is tonight from 6 to 10 p.m., and they’re going political in theme with singer-songwriter Nina Story performing. Bonus #1: Cash bar. Bonus #2: two-for-one admission for students. More info at untitled.denverartmuseum.org.

2. If you’re missing the crowd: Sure, we all complained about the traffic, the loss of mobility through downtown, the fact that it was hard to edge up to the bar and order a drink. But when everyone leaves, do you start to feel lost on the 16th Street Mall when your shoulders don’t bounce against hundreds of strangers’? No problem, friend. A Taste of Colorado started this afternoon at 4 p.m. at Civic Center Park near Broadway and Colfax. That should be enough traffic problems to keep you satiated, and there are always enough people to bump into–and enough booze to make them a bit too touchy–to keep the isolation at bay. A Taste of Colorado lasts through Monday evening; more info at www.atasteofcolorado.com.

3. If you’re missing the party: Ahh, the specialty beers. The free booze. The celebrity sightings and ridiculous super-bands we got to hear. It makes it hard to transition into a night seeing a movie at the Cherry Creek Mall. Don’t worry, we can ease back into more mellow nights, but this Monday, let’s party like we’ve learned how to by helping the Waterloo Icehouse celebrate its first birthday. They’re partying in style with BBQ, bluegrass starting at noon and lasting through the night, and plenty of beer. Festivities take place at the Steinbaugh Pavilion, 824 Main St, Louisville, and tickets are $18.50. More info at www.waterloolouisville.com.
