Head to the Orchard Town Center in Westminster tomorrow for the Bean Soup Social. The event, which benefits the Women’s Bean Project, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching job and life skills to women in need, features three soups made by local chefs using the Women’s Bean Project soup mixes. Each chef–Bronson Brieske from Woodlands Grill, Michael Dodge from Rock Bottom Brewery, and Liane Whelpdale from Mexico Cantina y Cocina–finessed the mixes, creating dishes like smoked bacon and organic six-bean soup, steak chili, and spicy black bean. Taste your way through all three (while I judge the winner), listen to live music, and peruse the live auction of soup bowls decorated by Denver influentials. The ticket price ($20 for adults, $5 for kids) includes food, refreshment, and a complimentary cookbook. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Women’s Bean Project. 11 a.m.–1 p.m., with the live auction beginning at 1 p.m. The Orchard Town Center, northwest corner of Interstate 25 and 144th Avenue, www.theorchardtowncenter.com –AMF
