This weekend, Buntport Theater Company performs its final shows of Anywhere But Rome, a twist on Ovid’s “Metamorphoses.” The epic Roman poem, which follows the gods as they change their human puppets into animals and plants, becomes a dark comedy in Buntport’s hands. Ovid hitchhikes through South Dakota with his characters Tiresias and Io and, in the process, questions the ideas of transformation, love, and self-acceptance. 8 p.m. Buntport Theater, 717 Lipan St. $16, 720-946-1388, official website
