Say you’re the coach of the Denver Broncos’ lackluster wide receiver corps, when your head coach gets fired for not winning enough. A new guy comes in from New England with a new staff. The writing is on the wall. What do you do?

You sign up to become offensive coordinator for the University of Minnesota Gophers, which is exactly what Jedd Fisch, 32, has done. He also bragged to the Pioneer Press that he’s an “explosive offensive coach,” adding, “whatever that is, whether it’s East Coast, West Coast, pro style. I don’t know what the definition is. We’re going to be the Gophers’ offense. We’re going to ‘Go-fer’ touchdowns.”

And with that, may I suggest that maybe, just maybe, Denver is better off without him.
