For just one minute, forget that Bill Romanowski’s career in the National Football League was “marred by a bad temper and his admitted use of” the muscle-building steroid known as THG.

The former Pro Bowler and Denver linebacker, who now runs a nutrition company, tells The Associated Press that he wants to replace recently fired Broncos coach Mike Shanahan. He’s so serious that he recently sent the team’s owner, Pat Bowlen, a lengthy PowerPoint presentation, outlining his ideas for the struggling team.

Right now, Romanowski’s coaching experience includes helping his son’s football team, and he admits that “for Pat to do something like this, it would take him being a visionary, thinking outside the box…it’s a long shot. I understand that.”
