Colorado’s smoking prevention brigade is out in full force, claiming “The Cigarette Is Dead,” according to Westword, which notes the hip sidewalk-chalk campaign in LoDo and on some of Denver’s college campuses has caused a stir with the Denver Public Works department.

Using sidewalks for advertising is illegal in Denver, no matter how well intentioned the campaign, and a cleanup was ordered.

Meanwhile, smoking bans appear to work–very well. Take a smoking in the workplace in Pueblo, where the rate of hospitalized cases dropped 41 percent, according to The Associated Press.
