Last night, the Nuggets returned home to the Pepsi Center after more than 21 weeks on the road, only to be embarrassed by the Boston Celtics in a 114-76 loss. The Nuggets tied their second-worst home performance in their 33 years in the National Basketball Association and weren’t far from their poorest ever–111-72 versus Chicago in 1998.

The Nuggets’ Nene was on the bench with a bruised knee, according to the Rocky Mountain News, and team Coach George Karl said the Celtics, who are in high form, were “angry” after losing to the Nuggets back in November. And the Nuggets, with 37 wins and 20 losses, might have been tired after eight straight road games. “It’s tough,” guard Chauncey Billups said of the long haul on the road, winning some sympathy from the Celtics’ Doc Rivers.
