The feds yesterday announced the indictment of 20 alleged MS-13 members, an international gang that CNN notes could be one of the most violent to enter the United States. Arrests were made yesterday morning in Denver and Los Angeles on drug and firearms charges, representing the culmination of a three-year investigation into the “notorious” gang, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Colorado. MS-13, with origins in El Salvador and L.A., could have about 50,000 members in the United States, Mexico, and Central America. Denver FBI special-agent-in-charge Jim Davis tells The Denver Post an informant warned that the gang sought to enter Colorado “because they believed law enforcement is soft here. This shows them that we are determined not to let them establish a foothold here.”
