The underdog gets a voice in the fantastic stage retelling of this Greek myth. Traditionally, the tale follows the newlywed Orpheus as he travels to Hades in search of his recently deceased wife. But in this version, Eurydice–his wife–is the star. Her underworld experiences come to life in a blend of water (both a pool and rain are simulated on stage), nostalgia (think props such as a red tricycle and metal pails), and movement (Ballet Nouveau helped choreograph the scenes). Critics have called the play “devastatingly lovely” and “exhilarating,” and certainly, the Curious Theatre‘s modern rendition will offer a playful perspective on the classic. Through April 18; Thu-Sat 3 p.m., Sun 2 p.m. Curious Theatre Company, 1080 Acoma St., 303-623-0524 $16-$32
