Plans to expand the ski slopes in Breckenridge, the most-visited resort in North America, to include a fifth peak has locals in a tizzy. Many are writing letters to the feds in an effort to prevent the expansion, fearing that more growth will only bring more gridlock, as they attempt to maintain the town’s quaint charm, reports The Denver Post. Indeed, Breck seems to be doing just fine at the moment: 5280 recently recommended revisiting the town to discover its “new cool.” Meanwhile, in Denver, things just can’t be big and interesting enough. Developer Gary Dragul has a vision for downtown’s Writer Square that would include a moat, according to the Post.
