When a coworker gave me The Tenth Muse: My Life in Food, Knopf editor Judith Jones’ memoir, I never expected to discover my favorite cookie recipe between its pages. While reading, I made note of the delicious-sounding Schrafft’s Butterscotch Cookies, then promptly forgot all about them–until I read Molly Wizenberg’s February 9 blog post on Orangette.

Wizenberg, apparently, had done the same–dog-eared the recipe and then blanked it. But I’m grateful she rediscovered that page, because these crispy, buttery cookies are now beloved treats. And though the recipe yields 30 cookies, I’ve made them twice in three weeks because I simply can’t get enough.
