The Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-2 yesterday for two straight wins. The club has already scored 20 runs, seven off home runs, but the story continues to be solid pitching, according to The Denver Post. Franklin Morales pitched six innings and gave up just one run on four hits yesterday, 18 years to the day after his father was killed in a car accident. Perhaps even more impressive was that Morales performed knowing that he’d be sent to the minors after the game to make room on the roster for reliever Jason Hammel, who was acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
