groff-peter1Citing “multiple sources,” The Denver Post is reporting that state Senate President Peter Groff is preparing to resign his post at the state Legislature to take a job working on faith-based community initiatives within President Barack Obama’s administration.

When asked if the rumor was true, Groff only answered questions with more questions and then changed the subject to music or sports. “Tiger Woods just teed off,” he said yesterday, in reference to the Masters golf tournament, when asked repeatedly whether he’d resign.

Denver Democrats are already lobbying to be appointed to his seat, and Senate Republicans are worried about losing an ally on educational issues, as Groff has been willing to take on unions. 9News claims to have an exclusive interview with Groff, who calls the rumors “speculation,” adding, “I can’t say one way or another.”
