Tiki, a Shiba Inu from Aurora, is now safe at home and resting after being trapped for eight hours in a drain pipe over the weekend. His savior was a familiar face, Sundae, the family cat, who began yowling near the pipe where Tiki was trapped and yelping, reports CBS4. Tiki’s owner, Lori Church, who had brought her two dogs and two cats to play on the grass at Iowa Elementary School, was led to the pipe by Sundae. She says, “The kitty is as much of a hero as the Aurora Fire Department.” Church took her pets home during the rescue, but Sundae insisted on watching a crew of firefighters and school-maintenance personnel from the nearby driveway. It took the rescuers three hours to free Tiki, writes The Denver Post .
