More good news about Denver’s economy: Big league executives for the kidney-care provider DaVita Inc., a Fortune 500 company, will relocate their corporate headquarters from El Segundo, California, to the Denver area. That’s according to the Denver Business Journal, which notes that DaVita runs about 1,400 outpatient kidney dialysis centers across the nation, including 30 in Colorado.

Among the reasons for moving its HQ to Denver, DaVita cited lower living expenses for its employees’ families and that “Denver is widely considered to be a highly desirable place to live and work.”

A new law signed by Governor Bill Ritter this year offering income-tax credits to companies that create more than 20 jobs in the state also helps, DaVita’s chief executive officer Kent Thiry tells 9News. Not only that–if you need dialysis, why not visit the Rocky Mountain state, Westword notes, in this review of DaVita’s promotional literature.
