To Nuggets guard J.R. Smith, Mark Cuban, who owns the Dallas Mavericks, is “just another thing we have to get by on the way to the championship.” That’s right. “Thing.” Smith says he is over his conflict with Cuban as the Nuggets prepare to host the Mavs in the first game of semifinals on Sunday, according to The Denver Post.

Here’s the backstory: At halftime during a January 13 game at the Pepsi Center, Cuban confronted Smith, who allegedly threw an elbow at a Dallas player. Later, Cuban demanded that Smith be suspended. That didn’t happen. Instead, National Basketball Association officials fined Cuban $25,000 for his behavior, then Cuban whined about Smith in his blog (via 5280).

Meanwhile, Nene feels wonderful and that’s great news. He has survived testicular cancer and a severe injury to his right knee in recent years, as the Colorado Springs Gazette points out, enduring the days when the Nuggets were one of the worst teams in the league.
