It’s not news that modern life for women like Christine Spuehler, who once thought she’d marry, have kids, and live happily ever after, is more fun than the “Mrs. Robinson” generation. Three years after divorce, the 44-year-old Castle Rock blonde lounges at Elway’s bar in a slinky dress and sexy heels, meeting, from time to time, interesting younger men–some 10 or 20 years her junior. While  The Denver Post‘s journey into cougar country didn’t turn up much we didn’t already know, it did put some interesting demographics to the trend. There are about 14.8 million single women between the ages of 35 and 54 in the United States, up from 13.4 million in 2000. Also, on average men tend to wait to get married until the age of 28 (compared with age 23 in 1970). Can’t get a date (or would you rather enjoy the carnage vicariously)? You guessed it–here comes a new reality show called “The Cougar,” notes  CBS’ Early Show.
