noonan-patThe Colorado Rapids traded away a first-round draft pick in 2010 and some cash to take forward Pat Noonan from the Columbus Crew, reports Goal.com. Noonan earned his reputation as a scorer with the New England Revolution, where he helped the team make three straight Major League Soccer Cup final appearances from 2005 to 2007. He won the championship with the Revolution in 2007 and was named the finals’ most valuable player.

Noonan rode the bench behind league MVP Guillermo Barros Schelotto in Columbus and will now have a chance to reinvigorate his career.

“Pat is too good of a player to sit on the bench,” Columbus Crew coach Robert Warzycha tells the Columbus Dispatch. “This works on both sides.”
