helton-toddSomehow the Colorado Rockies have kept things rolling, completing a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday at Coors Field 5-4. Sunday’s win came less than 24 hours after a dramatic 9-7 win off the bat of Todd Helton (pictured), who belted a ninth-inning walk-off home run to seal the victory. The Rockies are now 36-33 after winning 16 of their last 17 games, according to Sports Illustrated. The team is now 18-5 under interim manager Jim Tracy, who took over for Clint Hurdle May 29. With the team playing this well, it’s not surprising to see a fluffy Father’s Day profile in The Denver Post about Tracy, illustrating the man behind the team’s success. Meanwhile, former Rockies’ slugger Matt Holliday may not stay with the Oakland A’s very long. The Los Angeles Times reports that Holliday may end up with the Anaheim Angels next season, if the numbers work out. The Angels are one of the best teams in baseball, and the Rockies will test their mettle against them tonight starting at 8:05 p.m. (Fox Sports Net). –AJV
