Jessie Reynolds, an inmate with five felony convictions, wore an orange prisoner’s jumpsuit as he testified yesterday that he heard Aaron Thompson brag about burying a body. That’s according to 7News, which reports that Thompson made the comments in jail earlier this year, after seeing a television news report about a girl in Florida whose body was recovered close to her mother’s home. Reynolds said he was stunned when he heard Thompson say, “‘Sometimes, you just snap and then you deal with the consequences.'” He also claims Thompson said, “‘Sometimes the body’s hidden so well, it’ll never be found.'” Reynolds added, “When I turned around [Thompson] had a little smirk on his face.” The body of Thompson’s daughter, Aarone, has never been recovered, although he’s on trial for abusing a corpse, child abuse resulting in death, and myriad other charges linked to her disappearance. Prosecutors also played audio recordings yesterday of conversations between Shely Lowe (also spelled “Shelley” Lowe by some outlets)—Thompson’s live-in girlfriend at the time—and friend Tabitha Graves in early 2006, mere months before Lowe’s death (via The Denver Post). Graves tried to talk Lowe into going to the police.

“If you don’t have anything to hide, Shel…” Graves said to Lowe. “That’s not going to bring them back,” Lowe replied, speaking of seven other children placed in foster care shortly after the police investigation began.
