While Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is one of President Barack Obama’s strongest voices for a swift and decisive response to climate change, his older brother, Congressman John Salazar (pictured below), is more reluctant.
John, a southern Colorado Democrat, joined many House Republicans in voting against a bill that aims to cap the emissions that cause greenhouse gases.

The climate bill is “unfair” to Colorado because it would increase electricity bills, John tells The Wall Street Journal, adding that his brother Ken “has his job to do; I have my job to do.”
Ken, meanwhile, defended Obama’s energy policies in Fort Collins 
yesterday at a forum with Congresswoman Betsy Markey, as protesters opposed to so-called “cap-and-trade” legislation rallied outside (via The Denver Post).
The Interior Secretary will meet with federal lawmakers today in a summit on water issues surrounding Fountain Creek and the Arkansas Valley Conduit (John’s congressional turf) in Pueblo, according to the Chieftain.
