mcdaniels-josh1Could Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall and rookie head coach Josh McDaniels be the next stars of the reality TV show “Bromance“?

Pro Football Talk reports that the long-feuding duo may be close to making up, as the team supposedly considers giving Marshall the new, extended contract he wants. The Web site points out, however, that the rumor could be a way to pump up Marshall’s trade value, but it’s the first sign of a thawing in the relationship in a very long time.

According to The Denver Post, Marshall was offered a contract early on in training camp that he quickly rejected, leaving the Broncos in a wait-and-see pattern for these first few weeks of the season.

Meanwhile, Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton says he’ll play Sunday in the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, two weeks after the knuckle on his throwing index finger was broken during the preseason game against the Chicago Bears (via The Associated Press). He’s been practicing with a glove on his throwing hand but says he’ll take it off for the game.

Orton tells the Post (free registration required) that he’s ready to play and doesn’t care about the perception that he can’t throw deep or that he won’t succeed: “I’m going to play great, and we’re going to win a lot of games.” Famous last words.
