Denver workers have so far counted 51 spray-painted peace signs along the hipster-laden stretches of 13th and 14th avenues, just east of downtown. And the count goes on as inspectors search 10th, 11th, and 12th avenues. (And, hey, I saw a few on 17th Avenue near Watercourse restaurant.) “I’m all for people making a peaceful statement, but this is a little excessive,” says Denver resident Christopher Medved, who works at City O’ City on 13th Avenue, part of the targeted “bombing,” in which an area is inundated with graffiti to send a message, writes The Denver Post. Police have no suspects and, as 7News points out, for the workers left to clean up the mess, the intended message doesn’t make any difference. For their sake, as well as the building’s owners, let’s hope the peaceniks used some kind of paint that’s easily removed.
