As the founder of my own local nonprofit, I spend a lot of time collaborating with other up-and-coming Denver businesses. And after seeing how much time local business owners spend trying to make our city great, I’m driven to try to keep my dollars in the community.
Now, thanks to the Web site tuggl, that’s becoming a whole lot easier. The Denver-centric search engine provides information on the quality of a local business’ services as well as its commitment to serving the community.
tuggl’s rating system is based on a combination of customer reviews and comments from nonprofits. Customers rate companies on their price, service, and quality, but nonprofits get to weigh in on whether the company has made donations, volunteered, or done pro bono work.
I tested it by doing a search for restaurants. Two of the top-rated local eateries are Steuben’s and Dazzle. Despite the fact that these are two of my favorite places anyway, now I can also feel good knowing they’ve done great work in the community.
