Joshua Vecchione’s Toy Town in California received a suspicious package during the holiday season, seemingly addressed to a “David Lang” in Colorado. Vecchione, who said he never saw the package before, was surprised to see his return address on it. When he opened the box, a two-foot-tall, blue teddy bear popped out. An expert at squeezing stuffed bears, Vecchione knew immediately that something was wrong. It felt “hard and crinkly,” he tells the Orange County Register. And Vecchione doesn’t sell big blue bears. So he called the county sheriff. A deputy arrived and cut open the seam, finding three packages of marijuana inside. The writing of the street and town were hard to read on the shipping label, and a California law enforcement source tells 7News investigators now believe the package wasn’t meant to be delivered to Colorado. Officials aren’t offering further information.
