Arthur Folsom was initially surrounded by lights and cameras when he became the attorney of accused terrorist Najibullah Zazi. Along the way, Folsom was criticized for allowing his client to be interviewed extensively by the FBI. The press even investigated Folsom, learning he was facing a marijuana possession charge (he has said the drugs weren’t his). Now, Folsom has been taken off the highest-profile terrorism case in the nation since 9/11, according to The Associated Press. Folsom’s departure, reports 7News, is due to a technicality. A federal judge determined Folsom is not on the government’s list of approved attorneys. Folsom, who declined to appear on camera, tells 7News he is appealing the judge’s decision and wants to continue to represent Zazi—and get paid for his work.
