Her school photo is all over Greeley, on fliers attached to power poles and in the hands of anyone her family comes across. And now, the thus-far-fruitless search for 12-year-old Kayleah Wilson, who went missing on Sunday, has prompted the involvement of the FBI.

Last night, agents visited Kayleah’s apartment complex, where she lives with her mother, grandmother, and brother, to speak with neighbors and search surrounding areas, writes the Greeley Tribune. At 10:30 p.m., an FBI evidence lab van was at the scene, and agents in white protective suits were gathering evidence and taking photos in an apartment building.

“Her mom hasn’t eaten for, like, two days because she’s so worried,” neighbor Carrie Booker tells CBS4. Kayleah “was headed to a friend’s house to go to a birthday party, but she never made it to her friend’s house.”

Kayleah left her own home around 3:40 p.m. Sunday for the approximately 10-block walk. Her mother finally called police around 10 p.m. to report her daughter missing, and Greeley police initially suspected Kayleah was a runaway, notes 9News. By Monday, police were retracing Kayleah’ probable route, which goes through heavily trafficked areas.
