A Veterans Memorial Garden will be dedicated on Saturday in the southwest corner of Boulder’s Mountain View Cemetery, according to the Daily Camera. And whether you view the Memorial Day weekend as a time to remember veterans or an extended weekend, keep in mind that workers for the city of Denver and state of Colorado are going to get four days off, starting Friday.

Most Denver city and county offices will be closed as part of budget-saving furloughs in Denver, according to the Cherry Creek News, the second of five planned, involuntary, unpaid days off this year. Most state workers have Friday off as well, according to The Associated Press, causing closures at state driver’s license offices and state history museums.

The money-saving efforts don’t go as far as state parks, however. Those will be open all weekend, including Memorial Day on Monday.
