As strong winds whipped up during Denver Broncos’ training camp, none of the quarterbacks looked any good on Monday. Throws sailed high or fell to the ground, end-over-end, notes ESPN. From the San Luis Valley to eastern Colorado, gusts were as strong as 65 miles per hour, according to 9News, even forcing the complete closure of I-70 about seven miles east of Watkins after a semitruck turned over. Just east of Agate, the highway was also shut down because two more trucks were blown over.

There are plenty of felled trees around the Denver area, and at Aurora’s Rangeview High School, the wind buckled and then tore a big slice of a metal roofing deck, according to Fox 31. Luckily, school was not in session. A house fire in the 1300 block of West 98th Avenue in Thornton spread quickly, causing damage to a neighboring home.

And several Fort Carson soldiers were reportedly injured, including one with a broken leg, as the group attempted to set up tents for a training exercise, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Tuesday’s forecast: A mild day in the 70s with a lot less wind.
