CNNMoney has named a new number one place to live in America: Eden Prairie, Minnesota, which is “family-friendly” with a “dynamite economy.”

Fort Collins, which topped the list back in 2006, still ranks high but has slipped to number six. The economy there apparently still rocks, and the recreational lifestyle—a microbrew mecca with loads of cycling trails—remains top-notch.

The one downfall for Fort Collins is school budget cuts: Poudre Valley Schools has laid off 139 full-time employees, although the Coloradoan writes, “The magazine’s summation isn’t exactly correct. PSD officials say they are eliminating 139 positions, but most are coming through attrition and retirement, not layoffs.”

No other Colorado cities made Money’s top 10 this year. Still, Highlands Ranch finished a distinguished 12th and Broomfield an honorable 19th. Loveland came in at number 33 and Arvada at number 58. But as Westword warns, “take this fluff seriously at your own risk.”
