Mardean Gibson estimates that at least 150 of her 200-odd garden gnomes were kidnapped from their tiny village of mushroom homes in her front yard near Otis Avenue and Reno Drive in Arvada. “Sad,” Gibson tells Fox 31, “that you can’t have anything nice anymore.” She fears that her gnome family, which took years of collecting to put together, will be broken up—perhaps sold online. Gibson estimates the cost of her gnomes at about $2,000; most were gifts, she tells 9News. Arvada police are investigating, but so far, neighbors have been unhelpful, leaving Gibson to make a plea. She’d like the gnomes back, and if the thief or thieves return them, she’ll take ’em. No questions asked.
