Judging by the way the Colorado Rockies have been playing this season, a division title seems impossible. And sitting six games behind the San Francisco Giants in the wild-card race (via MLB.com), this weekend’s series against the Milwaukee Brewers at Coors Field becomes a must-win situation.

“The Rockies’ season began with the Milwaukee Brewers,” The Denver Post writes. “It could end with them this weekend if Colorado isn’t careful.”

Luckily, the Rockies are 36-19 at Coors Field and will see the total attendance this year top two million fans.

The Rockies are an atrocious 13 games under .500 on the road this year, a troubling trend that continued yesterday with a 4-0 loss in New York against the Mets. The Rockies were pounded by Mets starter Johan Santana, who managed to render the Rockies impotent with a dominating complete-game performance (recap via the New Jersey Star-Ledger).
