According to Zagat Survey, Denverites are still relatively bigger tippers when it comes to rewarding our restaurant servers. Zagat, which found the average gratuity across the nation to be 19.2 percent, says Denver boosts its rewards to 19.6 percent—slightly higher than the survey found us tipping last year, and just behind America’s tipping leader, New Orleans at 19.7 percent (via the Denver Business Journal).

Zagat also learned some other interesting tidbits about dining culture. Sixty-three percent of people feel it is rude and inappropriate to text, tweet, or talk on a cell phone at the table, although 85 percent are OK with the idea of using a mobile to take pictures of friends and food (via USA Today). Also, 68 percent of those surveyed value food that is local in origin, organic, or from a sustainable source (and 60 percent are willing to pay more for it).
